Despite our ever growing knowledge of worms we still continue to see many worm related problems in horses. It is therefore important that your horse follows a regular worming protocol. This protocol should ensure that your horse is left with a very small worm burden to help aid its immune system.
As with worming in a lot of species, resistance to worming products is becoming an increasing problem. It is essential that we do everything possible to help eliminate resistance developing and thus prolong the life of the drugs we have available.
Each yard is different, we therefore advise that a worming protocol is developed in conjunction with us, which is tailored specifically to the needs of the individual yard. Please read our Equine Worming Guidelines below which should give you some useful advice on preventing worms.
